Bill was born and raised in the small town of Modesto California. He graduated with a BA in Health Science (you figure) and a Minor in Business. After graduation he worked in various positions for different companies.
In 1983 he opened a business called “Christie Produce,” and built that business so well that he sold it at a substantial profit in 1992. Just before that he married Diane in 1990, moved to Folsom California. They have two sons, Tanner and Nicholas. During that period in his life he also started a company called Evergreen Glass, a wine bottle re-use business.
In early 2006 his son Tanner was graduating college and he and Diane had scheduled a graduation party for him, however that weekend was forecasting rain, and at that time they had an open trellis patio cover. Off to Home Depot he went and bought a blue tarp to put on top of the open patio cover so the guests wouldn’t get soaked. It wasn’t very pretty, but it did keep the rain out.
Bill thought there must be a better way, and behold, The Patio Bra was born.
He told his future partner Phil all about it, and he just fell in love with the idea head over heels and together they formulated a business plan. They started the company in 2006, and incorporated in 2008. They currently have a Patent Pending on the Patio Bra, along with engineering criteria, that will assist dealers nationwide installing it.
The Patio Bra sold like hot cakes in the Sacramento and surrounding areas and they both realized there was a specific need for a product like this all over the country. Therefore they decided to expand the operation nationally.
As of December of this year, 2011, The Patio Bra is seeking out qualified dealers to take on this remarkable product. And today that is where Patio Bra, Inc. is.
Phil was born in San Francisco California. He graduated from Chico State College with Major in Physical Education and a minor in Business Administration. Over the years Phil was a very successful salesman for a major Aluminum Patio Cover and Enclosure company based out of Sacramento California, from 1985 until 1992.
During this time period, he managed to meet and marry his wife Teresa, and found the time to father three children, Ryan, Benjamin and Elizabeth. Every spare moment he has, he spends it with his wonderful wife and kids, be it at home or on one of his “ventures.” After many successful years with that company, and with their blessing, Phil started his own Patio business, RAL Builders, that same year, and it is very successful to the point that it “runs itself.”
Phil is an avid hunter of all game. Every animal, be it Deer, Elk, Ducks, Quail is converted to food for the family and friends. Just about every break he gets from his REAL business, and now from Patio Bra, and that precious time with his family, you will find him (if you can locate him) out in the field on another hunting expedition.
Together with his business partner Bill, they have formed a company that offers a quality product, at an affordable price and that is backed by a five year warranty. But more important is, the warranty is great for the product, however both of these men stand behind The Patio Bra, unlike other companies that grow and kind of “forget’ all about what mattered to them in the beginning.j8
Any given day you will find Phil out in the field measuring for an installation, or actually installing one. A true working Chief Operating Officer. At the same time you will find Bill following up on Customer Service and handling the day-to-day business. A hard working Chief Executive Officer.
Both Bill and Phil are “Hands On” Managers and they are always striving to find better ways to assist employees and customers in any way they can. That in itself is a chore, because just about everything is in place already. They are the Mover’s and Shaker’s of The Patio Bra business.
